The Corona Seven
In Corona, California, there's a group of co-workers who enjoy the Southern
California hazy sunshine. They like the beach, the palm trees, and driving
on freeways. But most of all, they love the 'Ganza!
Here they are after a grueling game of three on four. Or maybe that was four
on three. Or perhaps it was three on three with a ref. Or two on two with
two subs and a ref. Note the majestic palm tree.
Here's a closeup of the Corona Seven. They are: (Front row, L to R) Steve
Gaal, Loretta Authement, John Authement, James Fletcher, (Back row, L to
R) Joe Trunko, Richard Hanson, Fred II Kruzel. Hey, Steve and Loretta and
John and James, nice shirts!
Here's Prognosticators Loretta and John Authement wearing their 'Ganza shirts.
Loretta is sporting the 1999 edition, while John prefers the more classic
1998 version. Notice how both shirts go great with faux Ray-Ban shades.
Here's John and Richard. Hey, John and Richard, nice shirts!
Here's Steve, Loretta, and John doing a special cheer they made up for the
'Ganza. It's called "The Special 'Ganza Cheer." John is signaling that he
thinks the 'Ganza is number one. Hey, Steve and Loretta and John, nice shirts!
(Shortly after this picture was taken, both John and Steve began paperwork
for workman's compensation claims.)
John (left) became a 'Ganza Prognosticator in 1990. Loretta's first 'Ganza
was in 1989, and Steve has been one of the 'Ganza family since 1988. Hey,
John and Loretta and Steve, nice shirts!
Here's Steve doing his impression of a mother kangaroo, while John is doing
his impression of a baby kangaroo who has just jumped out of his mother's
pouch while holding a little basketball. Hey, kangaroos, nice shirts!
Finally, here's John dunking the basketball. Even though it's common knowledge
that he only has a 6" vertical jump, he's not standing on a ladder or someone's
shoulders. Word from Corona has it that it took about four hours for Steve,
Loretta, Joe, Richard, Fred, and James to dig a hole in the ground to lower
the basket to six feet. |
